          Alivia Magaña is a photo-based artist from Kansas currently residing in Northern New Mexico. She received her BFA at Kansas State University in 2015 and her MFA at the University of New Mexico in 2019. From 2016-2021 Alivia worked at a Medical Examiner's Office as a Forensic Photographer, Autopsy Technician, and Death Investigator. These occupations have greatly influenced her fine art photography.  

          Alivia's artwork has recently been featured in the Analog Forever Magazine, Pasatiempo, and the Southwest Contemporary. She has shown work at the UNM Art Gallery, Light Art Space, Title Gallery, and Ellsworth Gallery. She has worked on photography assignments in collaboration with the Marianna Kistler Beach Museum of Art, Chapman Center for Rural Studies, and the UNM Graduate Art Association.
