The Light Between
The process of understanding someone's death is a peculiar encounter. Working as an autopsy technician, wearing layers of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), I’ve had to examine, touch, eviscerate, and clean many bodies. In a brief amount of time, I get a small insight into someone's life through their death. This series of glowing blue images, The Light Between, conveys the exchange between the examiner and a decedent. By applying luminol, commonly used in death investigations, I am able to reveal where blood has been. Not at a crime scene, but on my PPE taken from autopsy.
