The Light Between conveys the exchange between the examiner and a decedent through layers of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). Between these layers, I’ve had to examine, touch, eviscerate, and clean many bodies. By applying luminol (commonly used in death investigations) I am able to reveal where blood has or hasn't been, not at a crime scene, but on my PPE and tools from the autopsy suite. This series of glowing blue images becomes like a map that visualizes and traces the evidence of my experiences with the bodies of those who have passed on.
